Iām a geek, a writer, a gamer, a nurse educator, and sporadic textile arts enthusiast. Some of my current literary influences are Mary Robinette Kowal and the rest of the Writing Excuses podcasters (Brandon Sanderson, Dan Wells, Howard Tayler, and their various awesome guests, such as C.L. Polk, Aliette de Bodard, and Piper J. Drake). On the gaming side, I lean towards open sandboxes like Minecraft and character-centric story games like Spiritfarer, or else extreme weirdness combined with weaponized kindness aka GISH (the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt). LGBTQIA+ health is my passion as a nurse and nurse educator, and that tends to come through in both my storytelling and my gameplay.
How long have you been creating?
Iāve been writing since I was a kid, got put off it thanks to a creative writing professor who didnāt believe āgenreā was real writing, and decades later got writing again thanks to the fanfiction community on LiveJournal. These days, Iām working on honing my craft to hopefully start putting some original stories out into the world.
What stands out in your creative career?
That’s a tough one! I don’t yet have any fiction published. Well, original fiction, that is. On the fanfiction side, I’m currently pretty proud of “This Hallowed House,” a cute story I wrote for Yuletide this year in the October Daye universe. As a bonus, other people seem to like it too.
What do you stream? (or write in what genre)
I write fantasy, science fiction, and kids’ stories. I stream a combination of writing, gaming (mostly Minecraft) and occasional other random things.

Since August 2021.
How do you keep your viewers engaged?
Mostly through chat and recently have added a Kappamon to greet people as they arrive in chat.
What is your favorite thing about streaming?
Interacting with people while I write or game.
Have you met any streaming milestones you’re proud of? Can you tell us when you did and how you and your community responded?
I’m still a relative newbie, so I haven’t hit any of the notable milestones yet.

David has always considered himself a writer, and writing has always been a passion of his, even though for many years, it wasn’t his priority. Renewed in 2021 with “Writing Purpose”, he is embarking on writing while streaming and getting his work out there. Come join him in the writing adventure!
What do you stream? (or write in what genre)
I write whatever strikes my fancy, though I tend to default to Fantasy/SciFi/Other Speculative Fiction. Contemporary Fiction, Memoir, and others have been known to pop up too.
How long have you been streaming?
Since the beginning of December 2021.
How do you keep your viewers engaged?
Still learning – but I use productivity sprints, and engage each viewer as they chat.
What is your favorite thing about streaming?
I love writing, and I found I am most productive while streaming. What I love most though is talking with people who also love writing, or reading for that matter.

āSapha is like a young Wolfgang Pauli, in every laboratory he went, there was a little explosion.ā Cyberpunk/magic realism author and poet Sapha Burnellās works (Usurper Kings, Son of Abel & Neon Lieben) were dubbed ājaw-droppingly beautifulā, āan insane, diabolical, kick-ass rollercoasterā and āhauntingly beautifulā. Literary critic Ella J said of Neon Lieben, āI never thought a science fiction story could be so beautifulā. Sapha writes on the interlock between mysticism, mythology and science with a pugilistās eye. The product of Vancouverās multiculturalism, Sapha steeped in divergent cultures, religious experiences and gender roles, until battling with traditional opinions became a daily war. On hiatus from the written word, she volunteered in West Africa, and returned to Canada with an international perspective. As an editor & literary theorist, Saphaās work focuses on comparative mythology & the ethics of futurism. On Twitch, Sapha critiques prose twice a week, and writes online once. A member of The Writers Union of Canada, Sapha lives in BC with their spouse and speaks on gender roles, cyberpunk, martial arts, comparative mythology, wine education and religion, when the #hallowesfam isnāt chatting it up on discord or twitch.
